DMCA COPYRIGHT POLICY
Elliot Pyrdum respects intellectual property and acts quickly when something is wrong. If your work appears here without permission, tell us and we will remove it.
How to file a notice
Email [email protected] with the subject line DMCA NOTICE. Include the exact URL of the page, a description of the copyrighted work and your contact details. Anonymous notices without evidence are declined. We act on clear, verifiable claims.
What happens next
We review every notice within three working days. When the claim is solid, we take the material down first and ask questions after. We notify the uploader and keep a record of both the complaint and our response.
Counter notices
If your material was removed and you believe the removal was wrong, send a counter notice with your name, address and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the relevant court. We restore the material within ten working days unless the original complainant files an action.
What a complete notice includes
A useful notice identifies the work, the infringing URL and the rightsholder, and states that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised. It also includes a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the owner. We cannot process a notice that omits contact details, because we need a way to confirm the claim and tell you what we did.
We keep a record of every notice and every removal. If the same work is uploaded again, the repeat-infringer policy applies and the account responsible is blocked. We do not remove criticism, review excerpts or other lawful uses merely because a subject dislikes them.
If you are unsure whether your planned use is permitted, ask before you publish rather than after a notice arrives. Short quotations with attribution, links to the original and commentary are usually acceptable. Republishing a full guide, stripping the author or using our images in a commercial listing is not.
For the statutory framework behind these rules, see the U.S. Copyright Office guide at copyright.gov. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
Read our Terms of Service for how content may be reused, and our Privacy Policy for how we handle your details.
